Die Absenderin berichtet, dass sie seit Ostern schwer krank ist und weder gehen, stehen, liegen noch sitzen konnte. Immerhin könne sie nun wieder stehen und gehen. Weil sie länger nicht schreiben konnte, hat sie einen Boten an das Sprechfenster geschickt und erfahren, dass es der Empfängerin auch nicht gut geht. Sie ist daher so beunruhigt, dass sie jetzt wissen müsse, wie es ihr geht. Sie bittet dringlich um Nachricht zum Gesundheitsstand. Außerdem möchte die Empfängerin der Nonne Margarete Smede mitteilen, dass der Ebstorfer Konvent einige Nonnen zu Pfingsten ins Noviziat aufnehmen wird, darunter Anna Brunswich. Sie bittet um Fürbitte des ganzen Konvents für die neuen Schwestern. Außerdem bittet sie darum, dass sie einen kleinen Korb und ein kleines Gefäß, in dem sie ihr vor Ostern kleine Geschenke geschickt hatte, zurückbekomme, weil sie jetzt wieder gebraucht würden.
The writer informs the recipient that she has been extremely ill since Easter Sunday (therefore for just over two weeks), such that she has not been able to move, stand or sit, but has recently begun to stand and move again. That is the reason why she has not written. When she sent a representative to the speaking window, she was informed that the recipient was also unwell. She therefore needs to know as soon as possible how things are. She lets the recipient know that her community had accepted some new sisters on 6 May, including Anna Brunswick, who are compared to seedlings being planted in the vineyard of Christ (see Letter 15, in which a similar metaphor is used to refer to the first 33 nuns admitted to the novitiate in Lüne after the conventual reforms). She asks the recipient to tell the nun Margarete Smede about this so that she can pray for Anna. She also asks the prioress to say a Lord’s Prayer and the Veni, Sancte Spiritus for the new sisters that they may progress. She also asks for the return of a small basket and vessel in which she sent presents before Easter, as they are needed again.

Ceterum significere ik juw, dat wy per Dei gratiam aliquas sorores willet recipieren ad noviciatum 3a feria Penthecostes,4 dar iß mede Anne Brunswikes. Mede wolde gy dat sorori Margareta Smedes intimeren, dat se dominum Deum [Lage 9, fol. 6r] wille vor se bydden. Simul et vestram flagito venerabilitatem, dat gy illis novellis nostris plantationibus5 in capitulo vestro willen gheven laten I dominicam orationem et Veni Spiritus,6 dat se alle in sancta religione wol moten proficieren ad gloriam Dei et ad propriam salutem.
Item dilectissima bydde ik ok attente, dat gy den sportulam et urnam parvam wolden wedder hersenden, dar ik inne sende nostris parvulis ante festum Pasche, wente ik hadde dat ghelenet, alzo wert dat nü wedder eschet. Et cum hiis sitis ipsi regi glorie ad celos ascendenti feliciter commendata.
