<p xml:lang="en">The nuns rejoice in being able to share in the coronation of the recipient and express their hope that the fruits of her service as a nun may do justice to the efforts of the superior of her convent and another sister who had looked after her since childhood. They explain the spiritual meaning of the coronation ceremony, initially drawing on the words of the Introit for the Mass on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception to suggest how the nun’s coronation robe represents the garment of salvation promised in Isaiah 61. The explanation also contains references to the liturgy for Mattins on Christmas Day (likening the nun’s crown to the crown with which the Church, as the Bride of Christ, has adorned Him) and St Agnes’ Day (suggesting how the nun becomes a bride of Christ through her coronation). Additionally, it draws on the words used by the Bishop to address the candidates in the coronation ceremony (exhorting the nuns to receive the Holy Spirit through the ring given to them symbolising their marriage to Christ), and the linen crown adorned with five crosses worn by the nuns during the ceremony (symbolising their salvation through Jesus’ five wounds and His death on the cross). Furthermore, the exposition contains references to Philippians (explaining the importance of the outward signs of inner humility that the nuns had to demonstrate during the ceremony) and the Meditations of St Augustine (to explain how the ceremony represents the fulfilment of all the nun’s hopes and efforts). There are several gaps in the letter where the draft was perhaps illegible. The wording of the salutation, which contains an exhortation to the nuns to rejoice with all the heavens and all the Church in Him who ascended into Heaven for their salvation, suggests that the letter was probably written around Ascension Day (even though the unusual wording of the exhortation would more traditionally have been associated with sequences used in services on the feast days of virgins or St Benedict). This is backed up by the nuns’ expression of their hope that the recipient will experience just as much joy through her coronation as Jesus did through saving countless people through his Ascension into Heaven. In the convent’s chronicle for the years between 1481 and 1530, only one coronation ceremony was recorded as taking place on Ascension Day itself, on 17 May 1509; this letter was probably written shortly afterwards.</p></summary>

Vgl. ‚Amtsbuch der Sakrista‘, <bibl><ref type="altMs">Lüne, Klosterarchiv, Hs. 23</ref>, fol. 80v</bibl>:
