Three salutations. The first two are in the name of the Virgin Mary, the golden manna pot bearing Jesus, who is referred to in the Letter to the Hebrews as the manna of God’s new covenant, in an allusion to the manna sent from heaven to the Israelites in the wilderness in the Book of Exodus. The third is in the name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the chalice of sweetness as a remedy for all the ailments of the body and the soul.
