Die Nonnen haben die Briefe des Propstes mit Freude empfangen, da sie daraus auf sein Wohlergehen geschlossen haben. Die Absenderin und ihr Konvent seien besorgt gewesen und fühlten sich ohne ihn ganz verlassen. Durch einige Nachrichten wussten sie, wie erschöpft er aus Mangel an Schlaf und Speise sein müsse, weshalb sie großes Mitleid haben. Trotzdem fügen sie sich aber zugunsten der gesamten Region und vieler Menschen in seine Abwesenheit und wünschen ihm Gottes Schutz. Die Absenderin hat eine Messe für ihn singen lassen und die Nonnen haben Gott unter Tränen gebeten, dass er ihm Gnade erweise und ihn schließlich erleichtern möge. Sie senden den Erzengel Michael und die ganze Engelsschar sowie Anna und ihre heilige Sippe zur Unterstützung.
The nuns report that they had received the letters of Provost Johann Lorber with great joy, as they enabled them to find out about his wellbeing. During his absence, they report that they had been very worried and felt quite abandoned. They write that they were aware of how exhausted the provost was from lack of sleep and sustenance and that they felt great sympathy for him. However, they state that it was clear to them that he had to travel for the good of the whole region and many other people, and commend him to God’s protection which they write, in the words of Judith 13.17, never fails those who hope in Him. The chronicle of the convent does not record any journeys undertaken by Lorber on convent business; however, since he was a ducal counsellor like his counterparts in Ebstorf and Medingen, it is possible that he undertook the journey in question on ducal business. The sender reports that she had had the Solemn Mass of the Holy Ghost – a votive Mass to request good counsel and a happy outcome for all undertakings – sung for him in the convent and that the nuns had tearfully thrown themselves down before God, praying that He would show the provost mercy and relieve him. They comfort him with the words of Revelation 21.4 that death, sorrow, crying and pain will be no more in the new heaven and the new earth. They send all the heavenly hosts with St Anne, who the provost particularly revered and in whose honour he had introduced a weekly Votive Mass in the convent in August 1507, and all the Holy Family to accompany him.
